European Technical Approval Guidelines for post-tensioning kits
European Technical Approval Guidelines (ETAGs) were established by the European Organisation of Technical Approvals under the Construction Products Directive. ETAG 013 is mandatory for European construction projects using post-tensioning kits. Post-tensioning kits are used in new construction, repair and strengthening of existing structures. They are primarily found in concrete structures.
ETAGs offer a competitive advantage worldwide
European Technical Approval Guidelines (ETAGs) were established by the European Organisation of Technical Approvals under the Construction Products Directive. Mandatory for European construction projects, ETAG 013 demonstrates post-tensioning kits are compliant with a robust standard.
The CE mark is also proving to be a competitive advantage in international markets where it isn’t a legal requirement. Read the Acre Work case study to see an example in action.
ETAGs issued by BRE
BRE Global is a certification body accredited by the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS). We are also a Technical Assessment Body as designated by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) under the Construction Products Regulation. This enables us to conduct the work against ETAG 013 and harmonised European Standards. We can develop new European Technical Assessments for manufacturers. Additionally, we can undertake the annual Factory Production Control, certification & audit testing of existing ETAs.
